On the way back from Polokwane to Nelspruit, drive again through the hour long sprawl of Burgersfort, where we stop for 10 minutes at a time as the traffic from the other direction passes thru the one lane roads. Two little girls are chasing each other and looking at the cars. They pull some faces at me so I pull some faces back. These must be the two most beautiful girls in Africa. Burgersfort opens your eyes like nothing else; and this is just a drive through on the main highway thru town, not the depths back there. Very humbling, beautiful, sad. Can't help but think about my own two little girls playing at home, pulling faces and having fun. Africa.
